Prof. (Dr.) Om Prakash Jasuja is a distinguished figure in forensic science, currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Forensic Science at RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh. His career spans decades of impactful research, teaching, and leadership. He has been a Professor of Forensic Science and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences at Punjabi University, Patiala. He has presented his work both nationally and internationally, proving his worth in his field of specialty.
He has been awarded a lifetime achievement award at the 15th IASR International Conference on Forensic Science for numerous achievements, dedicating his career to the field of forensics, and inspiring students and professionals both at the national and international level.

Dr. Jasuja has been actively involved in the advancement of forensic science, both in India and globally. He was nominated by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, to serve as a Member of the Forensic Science Advisory Committee (F-SAC) of the Directorate of Forensic Science, which highlights his expertise and leadership abilities in the field. In 2013, he received the prestigious National Award for Innovation from the Technology Innovation, Forecasting, and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, for a patent he developed.
International Collaborations and Lectures
Prof. Jasuja has always worked for strengthening the roots of forensic science and hence contributed immensely towards international cooperation in forensic science. In the year 2009, he was among those few scientists selected by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) for an exposure visit to Israel as part of an effort to increase international collaborations in the realm of science. The same year he had an opportunity to visit the International Fingerprint Research Group meeting at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, to discuss new trends in the further development of the fingerprinting methods.
International law enforcement agencies and academic institutions also looked upon him for his valuable guidance. He was invited to deliver lectures at the Division of Identification & Forensic Science (DIFS) at the Israel National Police Headquarters in Jerusalem in 2005 and also at the Faculty of Forensic Medicine, Ankara University in Turkey. His presentations have contributed immensely to enhancing the understanding of the identification methods in forensic science discussions globally.

Among his numerous accolades, Dr. Jasuja received the Young Investigator Award at the 14th International Association of Forensic Sciences (IAFS) conference in Tokyo, Japan, in 1995.
