Dr. A. Nagarathna
Dr. A. Nagarathna is an Associate Professor of Law at Cyber Law and Forensics in National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. She received five Gold Medals in LL.B. (Bangalore University, 1999) and has qualified UGC NET for Lectureship and was awarded UGC-Junior Research Fellowship, both in 2002. She taught for over 5 years from 2001 to 2006 at K.L.E. Society’s Law College, Bangalore and joined NLSIU, Bangalore in November 2006 as Assistant Professor of Law. She has been teaching Legal Research and Methodology and IPR laws to the LL.M. Distance Education Course, Kuvempu University, since 2002. Her areas of specialization include Criminal Law, Cyber laws and Commercial Law and areas of interest include Jurisprudence, Intellectual Property Rights, Medical Law and Ethics, Legal Educational and Professional Ethics and Women and Law. She has published several articles and contributed several chapters to various international and national journals and books. Her research work titled “Patient’s rights under Consumer Law” was published by the Karnataka Institute of Law and Parliamentary Affairs in 2009. She has presented various research papers at International and National seminars, conferences and Workshops and has attended national seminars as a resource person. She is a member, Review Committee, [Masters in Hospital Administration] syllabus, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka [2010-2011] and also a Member, Panel of Experts [Information Technology Law], LL.M. Programme, Karnataka State Open University, Mysore [2011]. She is a life member of the South Asian Society of Criminology and Victimology and also a member of the International Institute of Information Technology Laws, Bangalore.
