Dr. Shaloo Malik
Dr. Shaloo Malik is currently working as Assistant Director (Toxicology) at Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Jodhpur. She has been working in Forensic Science Laboratory since 1998 and has an experience of approximately 22 years. She did her Ph.D. in the Chemistry concerning only Natural Products from JNV University, Jodhpur. She completed master’s in Chemistry from JNV University, Jodhpur and was a Gold Medalist in M.Sc. She was awarded as the Best Scientific Paper Award in XV All India Forensic Science Conference organized by Directorate of Forensic Science, Ministry of Home Affairs at Karnal (Haryana) (2004). She also got an Appreciation letter from Armed Forces and Additional Director, RFSL, Jodhpur. Till now, she has analyzed about 15,000 criminal cases pertaining to poison detection from post-mortem tissues. She has an expertise in handling important instruments like GC-MS, GC-HS, HPLC, FTIR, HPTLC, UV- VIS and Microwave Digestion system. She has imparted training to investigating officers from the level of Sub-Inspector to Addl. SPs to improve the quality of collection of exhibits in Toxicology Division cases. She has also delivered guest lectures to Forensic medicine doctors, Judicial officers, ADP’s and APP’s to get them acquainted with the technical advancements, extent of examination and interpretation of reports pertaining to Forensic Toxicological Examination. She has imparted training to MSc. Forensic Science students of various universities and is recognized as an Expert by Rajasthan Public Service Commission for preparing syllabus, moderating paper and providing answer keys in recruitment process of Senior Scientific Officer. She is appointed as reviewer of the research articles for the reputed national journal, “Journal of Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine”. She also holds the charge of Additional Director, Regional Forensic Science, Jodhpur as and when required and performed duties such as administration, office management and effectively manage crime scenes of districts of Jodhpur range i.e Barmer, Jaisalmer, Pali, Jalore and Jodhpur. She has delivered lectures in approximately 8 National conferences and has attended numerous Conferences and Seminars at National and International level. She has also published approximately 44 research papers in various National and International journals.
