Katherine Koppenhaver
Ms. Katherine Koppenhaver is a Certified Questioned Document Examiner with 39 years of experience. She founded the International Association of Document Examiners (IADE). She has testified as an expert witness in court and deposition over 550 times in various courts in the United States and Sweden, the Philippines and Trinidad. She has given opinions on over 3700 cases since 1983 and has authored the first college textbook on Document Examination, Forensic Document Examination, Principles and Practice, published by Humana Press. Her book, Attorney’s Guide to Document Examination, was published by Greenwood Publishers in 2002, and her most recent book is The Principles of Handwriting Identification. She has been working with the Jamaicans for two years now and is the principal trainer for the Jamaican Constabulary. She has also trained law enforcement officers through her online classes. She manages her business from Joppa, Maryland, under The Forensic Document Examiners, Inc. In 2013, she was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by her peers. She received an award from the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service in 2001.
